The
Calgary to Austin Peloton Project (CTAPP) is the flagship event of
Cancervive for awareness and ambassadorship. The eight-day bike
excursion from Calgary to Austin will feature the riders in groups of
five cycling relay style 24 hours a day.
Canadian Progress Club Calgary Downtown has been a major supporter of
this fund raiser for the past 3 years. This year, the 3800km Peleton
ride raised over $380,000 for Cancer Survivorship, more importantly the
creation of Wellspring.
Support
vehicles assist and escort them on the 2,400-mile trek. We’ve also
scheduled the ride, which takes place October 3 - October 11, for our
cyclists to arrive in Austin in time to participate in LAF’s LIVESTRONG
charity bike ride on October 14, 2007. In addition to the 30 cyclists,
up to 30 cancer warriors will be flown down to Austin to participate in
the LIVESTRONG event.
The
Warrior Program is designed to give these warriors a break from their
battle, and provide them with a small dose of hope and inspiration.
