Great Day for a Run!

What a great day for a run! On Sunday, October 1, CPC Regina Wascana joined 170,000 runners/walkers and over 10000 volunteers who participated in Canada’s largest cross-country event in the fight against breast cancer. Three members (and one member’s teen-age son!) volunteered on race day and we had 11 people registered for our team - 9 members, 1 husband and 1 friend raised over $2500 for breast cancer research.

We were asked many times who our group was and we took every opportunity to promote CPC. We even managed to make the Global local newscast and Janey Davies did a great job promoting the CPC during an impromptu interview with Global!

Many of our new members took part and it was a great opportunity for new and seasoned members to get to know each other – raising money and volunteering while we enjoyed fellowship, fun and a 5K – doesn’t get much better than that! Being part of such a huge, awesome event was a fantastic experience for all of us and no matter if we were running, walking or volunteering we knew we were helping to make a difference in our community and in the lives of the 1 in 9 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
