Here we are at the end of another year. Where has the time gone? Convention is just days away and I know it will be one that we will all remember. I do look forward to seeing everyone there.

This past year has been another interesting and challenging year. I continue to be amazed and delighted at the commitment and dedication of many of my fellow Progressians. Their commitment and passion for the cause is evident, not only to fund, but also by the dedication of their personal time with hands on service. My special thanks to each and every one of you for helping make the lives of those less fortunate better.

At Convention this year a number of “old timers” on the CPCF Board will be leaving the board. John Nunn, a 9-year board member, Margaret French, 6 years, Bruce Mansour, 6 years and Barbara Ennis who left earlier this year due to a long term commitment out of the country. To all of you, my sincerest thanks for all your hard work and dedication. I appreciate the commitment you have made to this Board over the past several years.

A warm welcome to Ron Lloyd, Pacific Region; Chris Moffat, Western Region; Mel Simms and Larry Fenske, Central Region and Dave Edgecombe, Eastern Region. This is the start of a very exciting term for you and I know with the expertise already there and the new board members, we are in for an exciting future for the Foundation.

I too will be leaving the Board after 9 years and I would like to thank Rosalie Courage, Al Gordon and Janet Merrick for their counsel and support during my term as Chair. Your mentorship and support has been invaluable. I thank you for the opportunity of working hand in hand with you.

As usual at Convention, we will have a silent auction room. We are asking all clubs to once again support this venture with a donation. We also will have a few chosen live auction items at the CPCF luncheon on Friday and I challenge all of the clubs to come up with something unique for the selection committee to choose from. We had a great time last year with the “peein’ on the prairies” photo and we are looking forward to receiving another unique item. Please submit your donation at the silent auction room upon your arrival to St. John’s. We appreciate the clubs’ support of this fundraising event for the Foundation.

See you in St. John’s!

Yours for Progress,
Janey Davies
