Regina Wascana:  The Caring Hearts Camp

On Sunday, May 28, the Canadian Progress Club, Regina Wascana hosted the final day of The Caring Hearts Camp – which is one of the events offered through Regina Palliative Care Inc..  This is a weekend camp for children who have had a loved one pass away.  It enables the children to spend time with other grieving children and to have access the fun activities and professional counselors as well.  We supplied and prepared a delicious meal for campers and staff.  We also assisted the children with the Butterfly Release Ceremony. Notes to their lost loved ones were written on butterflies, attached to helium balloons and released into the sky.  It is a most emotional time and the children really appreciate the opportunity to take part.
