The Importance of PR

By Darlene Brunskill
Director of Public Relations

The past few months have been exciting and busy.  Working from the solid groundwork done by past national director Karen Cooke, members are aware of the importance of “good PR” and have at their disposal many resources to assist in club operations.

Public relations will continue to work with our web master to ensure resources are easily accessible and defined.  New templates will be instituted as required.  And in the upcoming months the national brochure, templates for business cards and more advertising tools will be on the website and available for downloading.

Much conversation has taken place over the past few years over the CPC logo.  Is our logo a true reflection of what and who we are now and for the future?  Are we holding the line, remaining status quo, regressing instead of progressing?  Do we have an identity crisis?  Our membership levels say we are.  Perhaps we need to be proactive and embrace a possible new beginning?  The next few months will be spent investigating all these questions with solutions to follow.

In the meantime – April 23 – 29th is National Volunteer Week.  What’s your club doing to celebrate?

Yours for Progress,
Darlene Brunskill
