Greater Moncton Ladies Meet & Greet

Submitted by Greater Moncton Ladies

On Saturday, February 25th, 2006, the Greater Moncton Ladies held their second Meet and Greet at Mexicala Rosa’s in downtown Moncton.  As in the past, fellow Progressians from the Maritimes responded to the call with 21 members from Greater Moncton Men, Greater Moncton Ladies, Pictou County Ladies, Halifax Cornwallis and Halifax represented along with several new prospects.

An impromptu reception started the evening which gave use the opportunity to intro ourselves with the potential new members of which a couple were repeats from the first meet and greet and renew old acquaintances.

The event was started with the self introduction of all those in attendance.  A Power Point presentation on the history of Progress in Canada, the several regions, clubs, national board and awards was enjoyed by all.

Those present with past history of club, region and national board experience were asked to speak about their clubs.  This was well received by our potential members who asked several questions.

As usual, Heather Drummond did the wrap up with a very sincere and emotional recap of the successes and opportunities that have been part of their first three years with CPC.

Heather was thrilled with the turnout and thanked all of us for our support.  Heather then invited all of us to the first annual Progress Regional Hockey game between the Moncton Men and CPC Halifax men.

The game turned out to be excellent with lots of fans from both clubs.  The Pictou Ladies provided the members and family from both clubs with pompons and noise makers.  Many goals were scored throughout the game with CPC Halifax coming away with the win.

Needless to say the whole gang ended up enjoying the excellent night life of Moncton and great hospitality of our hosts and hostesses.
