F.O.O.D. (Feeding Others of Dartmouth

Submitted by Ken Robinson

In December of 2005 just before Christmas members of the Canadian Progress Club Halifax embarked on a project to help out 120 men in the area who were using the local soup kitchen F.O.O.D. (Feeding Others Of Dartmouth).

Karen Goudie, the coordinator of the soup kitchen, approached the Halifax Progress club to help with cost on the 120 men’s kits (shampoo, face cloths, razors, toothbrushes, tooth paste, shaving cream, etc).  The Halifax Progress club did one better and paid the whole cost (approx $2400 in value) and personally delivered it to the Kitchen.

A job well done.  A special thanks must go to Lawton’s Drugs for selling the goods to the Halifax progress club for 1/2 price.  It was very much appreciated.
