Postcard from
Cuba
Submitted by Sharon Ward
It
was an untypical Monday morning, March 27; untypical, in that, instead
of being behind my desk and in front of my computer at work, I was
strolling with a friend, down a sun-filled avenue in 20-something degree
weather in Varadero, Cuba. We spy the bus stop we’re looking for
across the street and make a beeline. There are people waiting, so
that’s a good sign. As I step up onto the curb, I hear my name
called out . . . “Sharon?”
And of all the gin joints (I
mean, bus stops) . . . who is it but Bruce Mansour, from CPC Halifax,
along with wife Lesley and some friends met along the way. Too
funny. We had all flown down the night before, on different
flights, and were staying across the street from each other.
So of course, it was a
recordable event, and so, here is our postcard to you. But I’m
thinking, can this count as a Progress Club meeting? I am
wearing a Progress Club cap!
