Central Region News

Brampton is pleased to welcome three new members.  Ravi Abraham, Ravinder Makkar and Manjula Makkar.  Welcome to Brampton!  At the end of February the club hosted the Central Region's President’s Ball.  National President Bob Lockhart was in attendance and installed the three new members.  A memorable night indeed.

The club hosted two Euchre nights between February and March to help raise funds for a local student Heather Banks to participate in a 4H Labour Exchange program in Japan.  An exchange that last year brought a student from Japan over to the family farm.

The Durham Region Women have been busy at the Pickering Recreation Complex participating with the Special O swim meet.  The following week, the annual Cops for Cancer Event.  Sharon, I haven’t seen you in a month, do you still have your hair!

Toronto Trillium hosted a membership night with a presentation by the Special Olympic Athletes that they are sponsoring for the National Games in Brandon Manitoba this year. Mark your calendars for June 26, when Toronto Trillium hosts its Annual “Tee up for Fundraising” Ladies (only) Golf Tournament at Remington Parkview Golf & Country Club.  For information contact Mary Kutarna.

Durham South would like to welcome new member Devon Poole.

The York Central Club is hosting its annual Yuk Yuk comedy night on May 6th.  Tickets are $25.00.  For more details contact Tony Maisano.

The Central Region AGM will be held on June 10, 2006 in Pickering.  Mark your calendars.
