Toronto Trillium and Toronto Downtown hosted their annual Bingo Bowling Tournament at Thorncliffe Bowlerama on October 22, 2005. This year 68 bowlers participated with the Brampton club winning the first game. Monies raised were in support of the 246 Canadian Progress Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron. The Toronto Downtown club started the squadron in 1942 and Progress is the only sponsor of this group of air cadets.

Brampton held its 15th Annual Charity Gala, Comedy Night & Auction on November 11. This year 255 guests were in attendance including a strong support from Special Olympics Brampton. Gala chair Richard Holloway arranged for the Rhythmic Gymnastic Team to perform. Afterwards Richard along with MC Ed Meyers presented these athletes with participation medals sponsored by the Achilles Track Club.

The Club would like to give a special thank you to David Harmsworth of the Brampton Concert Band for use of their upcoming CD recording of O Canada and The Last Post.

Performance by Yuk Yuk’s on tours comedians Jo-Anne Downey, Ron Josel and headliner Chris Quigley, brought down the house. What a night!

The Durham Region Women are busy with their Christmas events. The Festival of Trees Event raises funds for the Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering Hospital Foundation. The ladies purchased and decorated a beautiful Christmas tree that went up for sale to the public. Live Entertainment and samplings of a new liquor called HIPNOTIQ made for an enjoyable evening. The Christmas trees displayed for sale and raffle ranged from the Traditional style to an upside down tree with Santa’s hanging in the air. The Durham Region Women’s Tree in Coppers and Green looked stunning in the room.

On November 22, 2005, the Collingwood Area Women hosted a joint Zone meeting with Zone Governors Tony Maisano and Rick Phillips. The evening celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the ladies club. Members Judy Hawtin and Shirlea MacKenzie received 25-year service pins as charter members of this club.
