Leader Post Christmas Cheer Fund Donation

 Submitted by Regina Assiniboine

Regina Assiniboine members presold fresh balsam fir wreaths and centerpieces as a fundraiser with proceeds going to Regina’s Leader Post Cheer Fund. This comes at a most opportune time since the funds are distributed before Christmas to the four local women and children’s shelters and safe homes. They are the Isabel Johnson Shelter, WISH House, Transition House, and SOFIA House. This year was another fantastic success – selling 401 items – 286 wreaths and 115 centerpieces…our Club’s highest dollars ever raised for this campaign!

On behalf of our Club, Marci and Judy proudly presented Will Chabun (the coordinator of the Cheer Fund) with our initial cheque of $3,000.00. Will was absolutely thrilled at the overwhelming dollars raised by our small Club and acknowledged our Club’s generosity, hard work, and dedication. These much needed dollars were greatly accepted and the shelter directors especially thanked us. We also presented Will with one of the centerpieces as well as presenting a wreath to each of the shelter directors. They were very pleased to receive our gifts and noted how beautiful they would look hanging at the shelters…a bright spot in a sometimes sad environment.

All members participated in selling, sorting, and/or delivering wreaths and centerpieces - thanks to everyone for your help. As the saying goes ... many hands make light work.

Local Business Buys Sixteen Christmas Centerpieces
Cara, Marci along with her hubby Dale, and Judy assembled sixteen table centerpieces sold by the Club for a local business’ Christmas party held at the Regina Inn. The vibrant red and green colours of the centerpieces displayed beautifully against the white table linen. Many other businesses also purchased wreaths and centerpieces for corporate gifts – what a fun & unique way to impress your clients!
