| Do Not Pass Go: Moncton-opoly comes alive
Submitted by Richard Daley When it comes to fundraisers, members of service organizations like the Canadian Progress Club, are always looking for that one big fundraiser that will move them to the next level. They look for that elusive event that would provide an excellent advertising opportunity for the local businesses while concurrently allowing them to assist in helping the less fortunate citizens in their area. Well, the members of the Greater Moncton Progress Club, have embarked on such a challenge. Troy Myers the “Project Manager”, his hard working committee and the membership have invested a lot of time and money into a project that could potentially make a substantial difference in their city. The project, “Greater Moncton On Board”. This will be an extremely exciting, one-of-a-kind fundraising program based on the famous “opoly” style real estate trading game. The game itself will be customized specifically for Greater Moncton and will showcase the businesses and attractions that make it so special. This will be a game Greater Moncton can truly call its own! Things are going very well and expectations are high. This game has already proved itself a great success in a number of other cities and towns. The same or higher expectations are expected here in Moncton. If all goes well the proceeds will help the Moncton Lions Club Sick Children’s Fund. It will take the dedication and hard work of every member to make this work, and the Greater Moncton Progress members are definitely up for the challenge.
