A Class Act All
the Way:
Submitted by Richard Daley The Grand Banquet Room at the Chateau Moncton provided an eloquent backdrop to a grand evening, as the Greater Moncton Progress Club, celebrated a number of special events. A night where nine new members being sworn in and receiving their plaques along side their mentors. Each new member, with spouse and/or significant other at their side, was proud to make the official transition into the club. A night where Mobile One Soup Bus organizers, received for the first year the special “Silver Ladle” award for keeping the club organized in this worthwhile project. A night where the President’s gavel was passed from Jamie McGloin to Jim Grant and where the club honored Troy Myers with the “Most Improved Progressian” and Scott Savoie with … for the second year in a row…top award of the night “Progressian of the Year”. An evening like this could not have been a better way to pay tribute to Progress members in a year of significant community contributions. Throughout each year events come and go and often are not properly perceived and enjoyed by the active members, however, on this night the club in its entirety could sit back and absorb just exactly what they had helped to achieve. If the question to “Why do we do this?” ever came up, the answer was now crystal clear. Master Chef Scott and his very poised and skilled assistants put on an outstanding banquet with every course being succulent and having its own unique flavour. A Class Act evening, of proud moments shared with friends and family. We are proud Progressians and are certainly enhancing the quality of life of all Canadians, through community service, in the spirit of fellowship.
