What do you get when you bring together people of different age groups, diverse professions and retirements plans? You get an opportunity to improve the communications among that group! Along with the many elements that make a club successful, one of them is the ability to exchange information between members outside of the regular club meetings, to/from our charities, sponsors, and Friends of Progress. Part of Greater Vancouver’s three year strategic plan is to enhance information flow between the various groups. We determined that an enabler for this is the use Internet/Intranet. Over the last several months, and with the help of a well-priced web developer, we are designing a local web site as our main information repository. In a couple of weeks the website framework will be completed, followed by training for some of the members so that we can edit our content and not rely on third parties to maintain the site. Next comes the task of placing content into the appropriate pages. The challenge, of course, will be to keep the site current – this is where the commitment to our communications strategy will be tested! Currently you can find information for CPC Greater Vancouver on the website www.PlywoodCup.com.
