Sharon Ward Well, what do you know? Another substantial newsletter following right on the heels of a record-breaking 21 pages in January—lots going on across the country. I am still seeing an increase in community service reporting, and I have to credit that to the 8 Minimum Standards. And I’m sure that there’s more going on than is being reported in this publication. Keep up the good work. Remember, when we participate in community service events, we are more likely to cross paths with potential new members, like-minded individuals who may be looking for an opportunity to do more. It has been a bit of a struggle to do this issue of The Progression. I am having some reno work done on my house, which was built around 1918. I’m having doorways widened to archways in a few rooms to create a better flow in the house and there is plaster dust everywhere. I have been working under a tarp, trying to get this finished so I can dismantle my computer and tuck it safely away as the wall right next to my desk comes tumbling down. You know what they say about making an omelette! I keep imagining the final result when all the dust has settled. The folks at Camp Warwa sent in an article, which I was pleased to include. I welcome other such stories. If you have some detailed information about the cause you support, by all means, send it in. It’s interesting to see the results of our efforts beyond the cheque presentation stage. It’s time to start seriously thinking about National Convention in Saskatoon. It’s a great opportunity for people who have never been to the Prairies to experience Saskatchewan hospitality. And if you have already made plans to go, be sure to read Rosalie Courage’s message in this issue, regarding the education sessions. This is your chance to participate in the decision making for the educational sessions. Marci Brisbourne is ready and willing to answer any questions you may have about National Awards. (See her article this publication.) Have you been to the website recently? National President Juanita Soutar has spent a lot of time updating the Blue Book (the Progress how-to-do-everything guideline), to organize it, make it simpler to read and find elements, and available to all members. If you have a question, chances are, you’ll find your answer there. Again, I encourage you to write, if you have a beef or a question, or a suggestion for The Progression. This is your publication. Until the next issue, then, my best regards to one
and all.
