You may notice a slight change in this newsletter, dear reader. It’s all part of my master plan to upgrade the look and feel of The Progression to that of a magazine. This issue, I have brought most of the regional reports to the front. I saved one for the new “Features” section and will continue to do so in future issues. Some articles lend themselves more to features and some to short “snappy” info pieces that will remain in the front. It makes for a more interesting read overall. I’d also ask my angel reporters to send me the names of new members and their clubs. This will, I hope, become a growing list in the Upfront section. You’ll also notice a few articles that are more in-depth. Following suggestions and listening to the questions usually asked about Progress, I will be including more in-depth and a few for-fun articles in each upcoming issue. And this, my friend, is a not-so-subtle nudge to you to email me with your comments or suggestions. What do you like, what do you dislike? I am here to serve you. Your (mostly) new Board is now hard at work and the new line-up can be seen in the Editorial masthead of the PDF version. Some new names, some old names. Your name could be there in the future. Give it some serious thought. I am in my third and final year on the Board and it has been an amazing experience. We all have something to bring to Progress and Progress has lots to give back: new friends, new skills, new confidence and a new awareness of what this organization is all about. I am really pleased with the reporters to this newsletter who diligently send in articles and pictures each issue. We’re starting to get a nice rhythm going. Great to see two stories from two Convention Rookies this time around. Well written, Dave and Myra. You two have really captured the spirit of what Convention is all about. You may notice that I blatantly placed those 2 articles right next to Saskatoon’s plug for next year. So sign up today. You have all year to save up for it. Oh, and this really ties in with Central’s article about the Euchre for Virgins. Every club has the ability to hold an event specifically to help get members out to convention. Let’s hear about what other clubs are doing in this area! The investment is worth it. Ask any Convention veteran.
