Regina Assiniboine:  Picnic in the Park

Cloudy skies and the threat of rain showers could not dampen the spirits of the many families that attended the 2nd annual Core Community “Picnic in the Park” on Sunday, August 22nd.

Members of CPC Regina Assiniboine took the opportunity to spend time playing games and doing sidewalk art with children from the inner city area, many of whom we have come to know and care for through our Creativity and Culture’ after school project.

Given that the community suffered a terrible blow with the disappearance of Tamra Keepness earlier this summer, it was a wonderful chance to share in something positive with its residents.  Sounds of music and laughter permeated the air!

Thanks to Regina Assiniboine members for the donation of their time, cash, food and prizes in support of the day.

Members look forward to getting back with all of “our kids” once ‘Creativity and Culture’ resumes in the fall.
