Dear Fellow Progressians:

Welcome back after a long and not so sunny summer!  With Convention just a few short weeks away and so much to do to prepare, I will make this very brief.

We have a few really big things happening at convention this year (does anyone else remember Ed Sullivan?).  Besides the elections for new National Board members, we have the vote for the charity we will be supporting post million.  I do hope all club presidents have encouraged the members to read the information that was sent in late winter and have offered every club member the opportunity to vote for the charity of their choice.  Remember, every member and every vote counts.

Club presidents are to bring the ballot, signed by the President and Treasurer of your club to the Annual General Meeting on Saturday morning.  This ballot constitutes and should acknowledge the number of members in each club and the number of votes for EACH charity.  No actual vote will take place at the AGM—only the count.

I would like to remind all clubs that one of the major events at Convention is the silent auction room.  I would like to encourage each club to provide a unique article for the silent auction and perhaps your club’s donation will be selected for the live auction to be held at the CPCF luncheon on Friday.

I look forward to seeing you all in Edmonton.  I have heard some wonderful things coming from there and I am really looking forward to another great gathering of Progressians.

Yours for Progress,
Janey Davies
