Alberta North Zone:  Edmonton Clubs Update

Submitted by Brian Alleyne

Edmonton Down Town
The major fund raiser being run this summer is the Cheechako Breakfast.  The Edmonton Down Town Club will be celebrating forty years since its formation.  One of the major celebrations planned is a banquet on the River Queen on the Saskatchewan River.  Anyone interested in attending can contact Earl Krausert at 780-434-4242

Edmonton South
No major fund raiser planned for the summer.

Sherwood Park
The club will hold its 5th Annual Dawn to Dusk Golf Tournament on 16 July at the Legends Golf Course.  In addition the club will host the annual pancake breakfast on Canada Day at Broadmoor Lake.  This function is the major Canada Day celebration in Sherwood Park and gives the club a unique opportunity to show demonstrate how great is to be a Canadian.

St. Albert
The St. Albert Club also holds a Dawn to Dusk golf tournament, which was modeled after the tournament initiated by the Sherwood Park.  This will be St. Albert’s 4th Annual Dawn to Dusk and it will be held at the Sand Piper Golf Club.

Edmonton Strathcona
Edmonton Strathconas’s fundraiser is a Lobster Fest, which will be held at Crestwood Community Hall.  The cost is $30 per person and anyone wanting tickets to attend can call Mitch at 780- 440-4673.
