Regina Wascana:  Grace Hospice

By Donna Peake

A New Palliative Care Facility
CPC Regina Wascana is very proud to announce a partnership has been struck between Regina Palliative Care, the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region, the Salvation Army and the Progress Club.  This partnership will result in a new palliative care centre of excellence that will increase the number of palliative care spaces available in the Health Region by 30 per cent.

The Festival of Trees, Regina Wascana’s major fundraiser, has provided significant funding support to health care in Saskatchewan.  The project has resulted in contributions of over $235,000 in the last five years for palliative care, neo-natal and pediatric units.  The club will go forward with a solid commitment to provide funding for “bricks and mortar” for the new hospice.

Naming the facility the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice acknowledges and honors the 20 year partnership that the club has had with Regina Palliative Care.

A ceremony will be held in June to celebrate the partnership and the beginning of construction of the new facility in Regina.
