Saskatoon Meewasin:  Care & Share Holiday Lunch

The Canadian Progress Club Saskatoon Meewasin was pleased to help out Care & Share Saskatoon, a local charity, to help serve a “Holiday Lunch” to the inner city school kids.

At the beginning of December, Care & Share Saskatoon with the help of both the men’s and ladies’ Progress Clubs served over 6,000 “hot turkey and all the fixings” lunches in 15 schools.  An undertaking of this size takes hundreds of hours of organization and work.  What an awesome feeling seeing the smiles on the faces of the kids. For some, it was the first time having turkey.  And there was no problem with them coming back for seconds or thirds!  The Canadian Progress Clubs of Saskatoon have been involved with Care & Share’s Holiday Lunch program since its inception in 1997.
