Curling Bonspiel
When Mother Nature finally calmed down in the north, the Ontario Northeast Zone had the opportunity to hold their curling bonspiel.

This event was hosted by the Collingwood Men's Club, at the Stayner Granite Club.  Members from the zone and their guests enjoyed the challenges of the ice and very stiff competition from Toronto.  The host chairman, Jim Ironside, is hoping that this event will once again become an annual affair and attract even more participates next year.  A 12-foot submarine buffet and other refreshments followed the curling.

The Ontario Northeast Zone is using the expansion of social activities as part of its membership involvement and growth plans.  New members, prospective members and other Progress guests attended the event.  Juanita Soutar, National Vice President, Central Region, and Past National Presidents, Bill Sornberger and Roy Urbach shared the excitement of the event and under the tutorage of Ted Soutar from Toronto Downtown, were able to face the ice right side up.
