Western Region:  Alberta South Zone

Calgary Fish Creek

What have we been up to?
Good things come in small packages.  That's what they say, and that's what the girls of Fish Creek are.  The focus of our club this year is community service and membership.

We are happy to report success in both of those areas.

Membership

Fish Creek ladies at Bowl for Kids

Two new inducteesand more in training!  We'd like to welcome two more "sistas" to the foldDonna Dunn and Teresa Manuel.  Donna joined us in the fall and Teresa only just a few days ago.  Hopefully they are able to join us at Western Regional Convention to experience that Progress fellowship first hand.  I know you'll all make them feel welcome.

Community Service
In December the Fish Creek ladies "Adopted A Family" through the Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter.  Everyone had a great time as we combined our Christmas Pot Luck dinner with our Hamper wrapping and packing evening.  For a small group, we had a ton of "stuff" for our family.  It made our Christmas that much brighter as well as someone less fortunate!

In February we gathered at the Calgary Food Bank.  As most of our club is new members, it was a first time experience for us.  We'll be sure to help out there again soon.

Bon Voyage Cari!
Most of you know our Past President, Cari McLaughlan.  She's taken a leave to travel the world.  She left January 8, 2003 starting her journey in Peru.  There is no return date at this time, but we're guessing it could be up to a year.  She updates us regularly via email; sounds like she's having a great time.  Good luck Cari and have a blast.  We all miss ya!

The ladies of Fish Creek would like to extend our most heartfelt thanks to those of you who helped out at our Casino in December.  We couldn't have done it without you.  Thanks!!!!
