Philanthropic Honours
Halifax-Cornwallis was honoured by the Society of Fund Raising
Executives on April 18th. The club was the recipient of this
year's "Outstanding Philanthropic Group" at the Atlantic
Region Awards for Philanthropy 2002. Phoenix Youth Programs, the
group's primary charity focus, nominated the club in this
category. Three other groups with impressive credentials gave the
club some serious competition.

Upcoming Events
The club is gearing up for their annual Runaround event, a 5k run/walk
in Halifax's Point Pleasant Park. In recent years, this event has
brought in $15-20,000. A big effort is made to give the
participants a fun time after the race, with lots of prizes, burgers,
hot dogs and beverages.
A fun afternoon is planned for members and their
families at Halifax's Discovery Centre on May 25th. This gives new
members a chance to get to know their club on a more personal level.
