Pedal Pushers in Sherwood Park

Need a program your club can run and get very involved in the community?  Why not try Pedal Pushers - a bicycle safety training program.  The Canadian Progress Club in Sherwood Park is in its 21st year of running such a program.  The program used is produced by the Alberta Safety Council and incorporates bicycle safety training, education on the rules of the road, and practical bicycle control exercises.  To run this program the club receives co-operation from the elementary schools, the RCMP and the parents of the children.  The club acts as the facilitator and the actual training is done on a volunteer basis by parents of the children registered in the program.  The program usually ends with the children participating in a parade as shown in the picture.  If you are interested and want details contact this year's chairman Kurtis Blaikie by e-mail.
