in Support of Breasts Calgary City Centre embarks on a Synergistic Club/Charity Relationship! As the ladies of Calgary City Centre share with everyone the excitement of choosing a new charity of choice, they have discovered that the well-being of breasts is a common interest of all Progressians, male and female alike. After a year of strategic planning and research, City Centre has begun a synergistic relationship with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Alberta/NWT chapter).
The relationship is one that goes beyond the typical cheque presentation from club to charity. There is a reciprocal commitment between the CBCF and City Centre. City Centre has committed to aid in Breast Cancer awareness as well as direct the charity dollars from the Reindeer Doo Christmas Party to the Foundation. CBCF will support this Christmas function by not only providing manpower on the committee and at the event but also by providing promotion through press releases, newsletters and website coverage. City Centre plans to further assist the CBCF campaign by attending the Run for the Cure en masse and by encouraging others to build teams and join in (please set aside October 6th and plan to join us). The Foundation is committed to assist City Centre's awareness efforts by making presentations and providing guest speakers (cutting-edge researchers, survivors, experts, etc.) as required.
There is no doubt that all of our lives have been or will be touched by incidences of breast cancer. There is no doubt that City Centre is not alone in its desire to aid in the search for a cure for breast cancer. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (Alta/NWT chapter) was chosen unanimously by City Centre not only because of its obvious relevance to all of our lives but also because of the unlimited possibilities open to us through a synergistic relationship with our charity - the whole is so much greater than its parts. This commitment has resulted in City Centre looking farther, reaching higher and setting our sights on raising far more charity dollars than we ever considered before. And the Foundation is excited because the relationship will raise funds and will raise awareness - we are their target group. Ultimately, we join them in their mission to find a cure for breast cancer and look forward to the day that they thank us for our past support because they no longer need the funds we raise - a cure has been found.
