Pictou County:  New Kids on the Block

On November 9th, our newest club was chartered, with 28 new members! National President Al Gordon, Regional VP and President Elect CJ MacMullin, Halifax President Alex Rowe and Moncton representative Phil Calvert attended, along with a contingent from sponsoring club, Halifax-Cornwallis.

President Debbie VanSickle and her club have already been very active. A Charitable Review committee is underway and they have already planned their first Annual Golf Tournament to be held in August. $500 was raised by selling Christmas trees, and a Christmas social, complete with a piano player and photographer, rounded off the holiday season.

The club is entering four teams in their community's Curl for Cancer event as well as volunteering to help at the event. Great exposure!

A serious mentoring program is underway with sponsoring club, Halifax-Cornwallis, in March. No details yet, but cabins and hijinks have been rumoured.
