Halifax: The Sweet Smell of SuccessThe Halifax club undertook their 30th annual Celebrity Dinner on January 31. This has been a tremendous success for the club and was sold out again this year. The celebrities which the club lined up for this year were Bob Lilly, NFL Hall of Fame recipient and former Dallas Cowboy; Marnie McBean, former World Champion and Olympic Gold Medallist in rowing; and Bill Walton, Basketball Hall of Fame recipient who spent 14 years in the NBA. With a lineup like this, it's not a surprise that the Celebrity Dinner was a sellout event. Proceeds from this event help to support the Kingsmeadow Home for mentally challenged adults, and the Progress Centre for Early Intervention (a facility offering services for children with special needs). On January 16th, Halifax hosted a special evening to celebrate up to 60 founding and associate members. Club memorabilia was collected for display for this evening of reflection and great stories. The next issue of the Progression will have a report on how the evening went. -sw
