Calgary Bow River's Gala Event

It was a gala evening in Calgary on Friday, November 16th, 2001 when CPC Calgary Bow River once again hosted the Big Sisters & Big Brothers Gala Auction. The 14th annual dinner and auction event took place at the Westin Hotel where guests enjoyed a five-star meal, mingled with local celebrities and participated in the silent and live auctions to benefit Big Sisters & Big Brothers of Calgary & Area. Master of Ceremonies, Calgary Global TV's Jim Hughes was given a helping hand by enthusiastic presenters, Little Sister and Little Brother of the Year, Heather and Travis. Sports memorabilia proved to be this year's hottest auction items. The Bobby Orr collection, complete with autographed jersey, and the rare, hand-signed photo of three hockey greats in a classic outdoor scene received top bids. By the end of the evening, the generosity of a record crowd helped raise more than $34,000 for Big Sisters & Big Brothers. Congratulations to co-chairs Todd Berry and Randy Beaudoin and the members of the organizing committee for putting together the most successful Gala Auction to date.
