Fellow Progressians, Welcome to the first
electronic issue of The Progression for this millennium! The National Web Site will
continue to develop and become an invaluable tool for all of us.
Publishing The Progression on line is just one way that we
are hoping to increase our use of this medium and get everyone familiar
with all of the benefits it has to offer.
It is also a great way to make sure that there is always something
new on the site. For this first issue, members
of your National Executive have submitted articles on issues that will be
discussed at this year’s National Convention and Annual General Meeting.
These issues will no doubt raise some discussion amongst club
members, and that is exactly what is intended.
We hope that you take some time to read and reflect on the
proposals and suggestions and discuss them at your club meetings prior to
the National Convention. Future issues of The
Progression need submissions from YOU…all of you!
It is imperative that you continue to submit articles and photos to
be included in your national newsletter.
The intent is to publish monthly, and to keep the membership
apprised of the latest developments around the country. The preferred file types for
your submissions are MS Word documents for the articles and JPG files for
the photos. Don’t wait for deadlines
anymore. Be proactive and publicize your activities before they occur.
Let us know about your upcoming events, special occasions and
fundraisers. The more advance notice given, the more likely other club
members will be out to show support.
The Progression is also a wonderful way to introduce the
rest of country to your new members.
Be creative. Don’t
just introduce them by name; tell us more about what they do, what they
would rather be doing, what movies they like, what their favourite ice
cream flavour is. The most important thing to remember is to have some fun with
your submissions. So get those fingers tapping
on the computer keyboard, and make sure you’ve designated someone to be
your club photographer. Send in your submissions now, and keep us all informed! Yours for Progress, Molly Trussler
