THE CANADIAN PROGRESS CLUB CALGARY EVES SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Calgary Eves are doing it again. It was back in 1977 when CPC “Calgary Eves” made history by becoming the first “all women's service club ever chartered in Canada." Now we are leaving a legacy to our community with an “Our Millennium Project” The “CANADIAN PROGRESS CLUB CALGARY  EVES SCHOLARSHIP FUND”.

Two funds have been set up that are similar in nature. One fund has been set up at “Mount Royal College” and another at “The University of Calgary”.  These funds will be Permanently Endowed Scholarship funds. The Calgary Eves have contributed $5000.00  to each of these funds. Matching contributions of $5000.00 will be made to each fund from  Alberta Opportunity Bursary Fund, making the total of the “CANADIAN PROGRESS CLUB CALGARY  EVES SCHOLARSHIP FUND” $20,000. Additional donations may be made to the funds by anyone at anytime.

These scholarship funds will provide an annual award to a full-time student entering  his or her second year and enrolled in any program.

The required criteria will be based on academic merit, financial need and participation current or past in the Big Sisters or Big Brothers program (formerly Aunts or Uncles at Large). In the case where no candidate meets this criterion then children of current CPC members will be eligible. If  there are no candidates who meet these requirements then it will be based on academic, merit and financial need only

Each year CPC Calgary Eves will be advised of the award recipient and invited to present award at special function.

Over the past twenty-four years the “Calgary Eves” have worked very hard in our community. We are now very excited and proud to be leaving behind this legacy.

For more information  about this scholarship you will find  it on the “www.ourmillennium.ca” web site. It is under learning category “CPC CALGARY EVES SCHOLARSHIP”
